Thrifty car rental has a ***** way of conducting business

I am very disappointed with the service I have received at Thrifty Car Rental. On the 8th of August I hired a car at Thrifty in King Shaka Airport for my stay in Durban for 6 days. I was hijacked on the 10th and contacted Thifty immediately. They said they would track the car and let the police know ASAP. They didnt do that instead everytime i called the office i had to keep repeating my story because nobody had a clue what I was talking about. The following day in the morning I call them, i was told that the car didnt have a tracker by one of their consultants and i was shocked. Imagine if these guys who hijacked us took one someone with? There would be no help from their side. Later on that morning I get a call from the manager Rennie, she tells me that there was a tracker in the car and it was taken out (in a very rude manner), so I should just give a case number from the police and fill out a claim form. It sounded like thats all that mattered. So I did just that... that same day. I asked at the branch what was next they said i should wait for a call from the claims department.

On Monday the 14th I get a deduction of R2500 out of my account on top of the deposit i had already paid upon taking the vehicle(Mind you, I took a super waiver and the car hadn't been recovered) I was very upset because I had not been given any notification of extra charges I had incurred. When I called the office nobody could clearly expain this R2500 extra deduction. I was told car was found but was still held at the police pound and the charges were a recovery fee of R1500 and R500 admin. So where did the other R500 go..... Dololo? Nobody could explain. What exactly is the recovery fee for because the car was found the next day disserted with the key inside? I keep getting told i must wait for a call from your department and till today... nothing. I have to keep calling without receiving clear answers. I am not happy with your level of service and I dont even believe that car you gave me had a tracker. I would not refer anyone to use this rental company. Very unprofessional shame?.
