Thrifty Car Rental *****

I rented a car on 22 May 2022 and had to pay a refundable R5000 deposit on top of the R8103.51 for 3 days of car rental. Another amount was deducted from my bank account afterwards for refueling, which is normal practice. BUT up to today after numerous phone calls and e-mails, my deposit is not refunded.

I was told that I choose to put the deposit in a "Holding Account" when i swiped my credit card. Absolute nonsense as there are no options when you swipe a credit card.

PLEASE BE CAREFULL when you deal with this company.
