Thrifty car hire no deposit return
I hired a car from Thrifty car hire, had to pay a deposit of R7000 to hire the car for one day which I wasn't happy with but agreed to, they told me it would take a maximum of 7 days for my deposit to be returned, it is now going into 7 days still no refund, and i can more than bet the vehicle that I hired has probably been rented out multiple times. If they are going to hold my deposit then it should be only fair that the vehicle should not be rented out until we have concluded our agreement. <br> <br> Will never use you guys ever again

Thank you for addressing your concerns with Thrifty Car Rental South Africa.
As a car rental company we do have a standard procedure when renting a vehicle whereby a deposit is required. The deposit will vary in accordance to the vehicle opted for at time of hire.
With regards to the release of the holding deposit, we do request within 24 hours of the rental terming the release of the deposit, hence the deposit as per bank procedure will take between 2-4 working days to reflect depending on the bank.
Please note the deposit will not reflect as a credit / refund, but will automatically be reversed into the bank balance of the card holder.
