Thrifty Car Hire - a company that hates its customers???

Sent to Thrifty from me. So this is what is going to happen now. I am not going to contact you again. You are going to contact me ????????????????. That is what we call good customer service. You can either reach me on my foreign cell which is + ** ********. Or on my email which is *****@*****.com. What you must do Emily dear is to send all this information to your colleagues at the airport office in Cape Town. Because if you do not get this sorted out l will simply inform the traffic police that Thrifty refused to cooperate and that they thought it was just fine for me to drive an unlicensed car. Right! So we are slowly making progress. And l have to say Thrifty is trying hard. They sent a man to me today all the way from Somerset West (100 kms away) to bring me a new car license. All sorted. Though it seems incredible that 1) they never answer emails or phone calls and 2) they couldn't fix this when l visited their office twice at Cape Town airport. I will wait with my final recommendation and score of Thrifty here on Hellopeter until l have sorted out finances with them at end of holiday. I hear that also that can be a nightmare with Thrifty car hire.

Am now back in my home country and finally closed this case. A quick summary needed. Thrifty tried very hard to "fix" their relationship with me - create trust. It was too little too late. Truth is that they really messed up the first 5 days of my holiday in South Africa. That's hard to forgive. But they did at least try to sort things out in the end. They sent someone to my home to give me an extended license. The car I was renting had a license that expired only a week into the rental period. This employee drove about an hour to the place I was staying. I can thank HELLPETER for that! I also got the telephone number of the manager who responded all the time to my messages. The company itself seems to have a clear policy - they NEVER answer telephones and they NEVER answer emails. Gladly, I am finished with Thrifty. I will not use them again. But, "it could have been worse" I suppose.
