<p>I rented a car from Thrifty King Shaka on 12 April and my account (Credit Card) was debited with a "holding deposit" of R5000. I should have know that I would NEVER see that R5000 again. After I got an SMS from FNB that R5000 had been taken by Thrifty and my balance was R1400. I then proceeded to deposit a further R15000 into my account and after I returned the car back in IMMACULATE condition on 18 April to along Shaka (with a FULL tank of petrol I will add as I was instructed to fill it up at the sasol outside king shaka) weeks have passed and still no deposit returned. I then phoned Thrifty to enquire about my deposit and they told be it was paid back. After calculating my transactions inside FNB with a consultant. My account is visibly missing R5000. Thrifty claim to have no proof that they can send to say they did indeed give my deposit back and it seems as if MY R5000 just disappeared(into their pockets perhaps?) </p> <p>I Will be consulting a lawyer this week as this has also happened to a family member. There's no way ******** like Thrifty Car Rental will get away with *****ing a large sum of money </p>
