Poor and Bad service

Hereby, I would like to take the opportunity to express my dissatisfaction and disappointment with the Service that I received from Dollar Thrifty. Below was my sequence of the events. I booked a H1 vehicle with Dollar Thrifty for the period from 29/03/18 until the 03/04/18 and were given a price of R7050 + R4000(Deposit) – On the day of taking delivery of the vehicle I was charged an amount of R7550 + R4000(Deposit), which I paid in full as I needed to leave and couldn’t wait to resolve it. On route to the Eastern Cape the vehicle started giving me problems, whereby I phoned and spoke to Brain at the King Shaka Branch and report that the Engine light came on and that the vehicle is slipping also that the diesel flap doesn’t want to open. I was advised to take the vehicle to Huyandi Kokstad and their will check it out for me, on arrival there they spoke to the guys whereby I was informed to leave Huyandi as by your office. I left Kokstad and was almost in Matatiele, but received a call from your guys office to turn around go back to Toyota in Kokstad as they will look at the vehicle, I turned around drove back, just to be told that Toyota can’t assist me either, I drove back unnecessary and it was a complete waste of my already wasted time and my Fuel. I continue driving the vehicle like that and as the vehicle was starting to really drive bad my trip that normally would have taken me +/- 9 hours turned into a 2 full days trip, very uncomfortable as I was travelling with my whole family. We were supposed to unveil my Father’s Tombstone on the Friday, but my other family had to postpone all their plans as I had vehicle problem. Eventually me reaching my destination in the Eastern Cape the following day, I had to phone again as no one gave a damn what happened to their customer. A vehicle was send from the Port Elizabeth Branch, which arrived at 18h00, so I rented a vehicle for 6 days (Which I paid in full and was overcharge a R500 on top of that) but only really used it from the 18h00. On top of that I received a 3/4 tank of Diesel but had to fill the other vehicle I send back. After the driver left, I notice the back bumper was loosed, I phoned your PE branch and notified them of the bumper, whereby I was assured that they will notify the King Shaka branch, just to find out on returning the vehicle that nothing of such was sorted out. My experience with Dollar Thrifty before this weekend was commendable as my Company is renting Bakkies on a month to month basis and I had never experience any Service like this.

I phoned and emailed their Customer Care Department and Rennie Perumal the Branch Manager of the King Shaka Branch, without any success as I am just getting shrugged off. The level of bad service that I received is really disappointing and very unprofessional. I returned the vehicle 3 days ago and brought my concerns to Rennie and their Customer Care Department but no feedback as yet, very poor Customer Service
