Let me just say I have never felt this aggrieved about the service received at Thrifty. I took they vehicle and half way in my journey realise the tyres were worn out.

This did no put me and my family at risk but caused me to make too many stops so that I can keep these tyres cool after one of them burst about 2hour into my journey forcing me to drive the rest of 12 hour joinery with out spare wheel.

I tried several attempts to chat to their management at Cape Town branch but to no avail. I even left a whatsapp msg for him and till now he has just read the message but no response.

When dropping the car this morning as I could not yesterday I was told I am going to be charged a handling fee of R500. I also assume that with this attitude I am also going to be charged extra for delayed return after they branch manager failed to make contact with me to provide direction on the life threatening situation I found my self and family in yesterday.

I will wait for them to finish they admin and realese the hold deposit and I will take it from there should there be unnecessary charges.

How can you even have gutts to charge a client handling fee costs for car rented out with worn out tyres?

I am very disappointed not only on the state of the vehicle I got but also at how Craig in Cape-Town has just down played this incident by merely deciding not care to respond to all my communications
