Old Damages being passed on to me

OR Tambo branch are shameless. I returned my hired car - which i must say was full of damages. When i returned the car we inspected it and there were no new damages that were spotted - only damages were existing damages that i took the car already having. They should have pulled the car out of the rental pool to repair it - however it seems i was the fool who decided to take the car. They are now trying to pin some damages to me, they are shameless. They are now claiming that I did not sign any Inspection document after returning the car.
