Money deducted from my account without telling me

I often rent from Thrifty and because i dont drive long distancesbin Cape town i always get a small compact inexpensive vehicle. This time i went about it and got the Datsun go. When i ask for a flap to cover the boot section incase i have posessions in tbe boot they always tell me they dont have any for that model. A week later i went out in Stellenbosch to a prominent wine farm and had a break in due to the fact that i had a bag in the boot and the perportrator could see in the back. After dialling about 7 different numbers i finally got hold of someone that would assist and with the help of a kind gentleman at the Stellenbosch Thrifty they collected me and offered me a replacement car because the lock was damaged and the car couldnt be opened.

So my complaint is that Thrifty should not be renting cars if they cannot provide the boot flap/ parcel trays for these vehicles. Why should patrons have to suffer because of this because the boot is open and ******* can see right in.

Secondly my car was damaged i know i need to pay for the damaged lock but why then do you just deduct money from a customers account without calling them first and making them aware of it?

I rang the airport iffice now and they say its procedure to call a customer first. So THRIFTY im waiting for my call and an apology.

Hi Delme
Thanks for writing to us. We are so sorry to hear about this unfortunate circumstance. Did the branch not communicate to you about the amount of money that was to be deducted from your account ?
