GOT CHARGED R1500 FOR A SCRATCH ON A TYRE THAT I NEVER NOTICED BEFORE LEAVING.

In February i booked a car at Kruger International Airport for 5 days. They assessed the car body for dents and scratches after that i left. After two days i called the airport branch for a 1 day extension and they agreed. The next day i checked how much it cost me. The amount, to my surprise, is 2 times the amount i was paying for (daily rate), fine okay.

Rental lapsed, I then came back to drop the car off. When i come back they re-checked car, when they saw nothing was damaged. They tell me that my RF tyre is scratched and they will charge me for new tyre. To my surprise i said it is fine, since emotionally i was not okay.

However, Now i would like to know three things: 1. Why was the scratch not noted nor shown to me before my journey started. i have never seen tyre checks in my rental history, that means next time they will charge us for treads used. 2. I need an incident report, invoice and a policy that stipulates that any scratches on the tyres results in a replacement even thou the tyre has no problems. 3. I need to see the replaced tyre and would like to have the old one since the tyre never even lost any pressure. 4. I would like my deposit back, its been 13 days and counting. But i have been charged for the tyre of R1500 for Nissan Micra.

If you are reading this and thinking of renting a car, please look the other way because you will regret it with so many problems from charging to return of deposit. I will never in my life time recommend anyone to do business with Dollar Thriffy because they are a rip-off and they are only going milk customers dry, if they can charge me for a scratch on the tyre God knows whats coming for you. I even have photos of this scratch.
