********** company, dispute in Refund, every excuse under the sun to not refund

First and last time using this rental services, and I will be going to the ombudsman. Rented a Mercedes Vito in November returned on the 28th. Rented a Mercedes Vito with multiple faults, engine oil overheating, fuel tank gauge faulty. Passed between pillar and post regarding my holding deposit (R10 000) where initially advised of 14 business days (no initial communication regarding the 14 working days refund policy prior to rental), I had to wait 21 business days post returning the car. After multiple follow ups and constant calls and back and forth to the site, an excuse was surfaced that the deposit was deducted due to excess of kilometres mind due I had rented the car for unlimited kilometers, everyone from the office clerk to the supervisor by the name of Joyce M to the most senior person contactable via phone had no clue what they were doing. They were all not aligned, after multiple disputes as mentioned I received my deposit on the 3rd of Jan 2022, a day later a deduction of R1800 was taken from my bank account. This is ***** I would not recommend Thrifty to anyone
