FALSE ADVERTISING

Thrifty Car Rental doesn't have a LOW RATING for no apparent reason. I read some reviews last week but thought to give them a chance since i was going to the OR Tambo branch, and that was a mistake. I booked a VW UP for 8 days with Thrifty through the CarFlexi website, i paid a reservation fee. I called to confirm if they accepted Capitec Credit Cards and they said "Yes." Upon arrival at the OR Tambo i was told that they don't accept Capitec cards, and if i was to use my wife's FNB card i'd have to pay a R250 fee for that. But i'd brought my Nedbank card so i walked to the banks to move money accordingly since they don't accept cash. I came back and they told me i had to pay R4000 deposit but when i called them they said R2000 on super cover, and they told me that since i did it through CarFlexi i had to pay R4000 because every deal done through them is on Standard cover. Fine, i paid R4000. The website said unlimited km but they gave me 200 km, i contested this and they eventually changed it. They gave me a DATSUN GO, i told them i had reserved a VW UP, and they told me they don't stock VW UP, and i contested this as FALSE ADVERTISING, they passed the buck blaming CarFlexi, but i don't understand why they would allow CarFlexi to advertise products they don't stock on their behalf. I hate DATSUN GO and asked for something else and was told that DATSUN GO is the only car they have under Group P. There is no Group P term on CarFlexi, there is SMALL/ECONOMY, and Thrifty has a range of Group A cars in that category. Out of desperation i reluctantly took a car i hate and paid in full for it, there was no effort made from Thrifty to compensate for this. Only to find that this DATSUN GO is smelling and i have to bring it back in a clean state, the passenger seat and back seat have holes in them and the carpet in the car is torn and stapled (yes, staples you use for stapling paper) into the car. The Bluetooth of the radio doesn't work properly. The white manager is annoying and unhelpful, every query i brought up that was reported to him he responded with dismissive answers, he never addressed me once even though i was standing right in front of him, he never even looked at me! I'm not ******... that is simply annoying, no people s****s at all. I will never use Thritfy again, it was the FIRST and the LAST time today!
