excessive deduction, *****

i rented a car from these guys on 31/09/2021 returned it 07/10/21. windshield damage which i was more than prepared to pay with the condition they prove that they explained the need for additional cover after i took the super waiver and give me my original signed contract. they went ahead and deducted money from my credit card took more than they needed, sent me a "original" contract which was altered electronically to include all the additional charges and my signature, after i signed. *****? till today i have been waiting on answers, weekly mails sent to them. they took money, no refund and no feedback since 29 Oct. should i maybe contact a legal advisor? i have proof of the **********ly signed altered contract, moneys that they took etc.
