Dollar Thrifty Car Rental Cars NOT Insured??? Dont Hire their Cars!!!!!

I rented the a vehicle with Dollar Thrifty asked my secondary driver to drive it on my wedding day.

when we arrived at the venue the cars wheels slipped on the a Incline and Slid Back even after applying breaks and Hit the venues gate as it was closing.

When i called Thriffy they told me that there cars are not insured and that I am liable to pay for all of the damages even though we took the standard waver option

How can they rent out cars with out insurance????

who in their right minds would hire a car with any insurance? the agents that rented the car to us never told us this at all

Whats purpose of getting the waver in the 1st place???

Who the heck has +- R50 000 laying around to just fix up a car?
