disregard for customers

I don't understand the concept of being told you have to wait a minimum of 14 working days to have your deposit released back to your credit card. what is so difficult to release ones funds? the customer service at dollar thrifty does leave very little to be desired at times. I have used thrifty multiple times and seem to always have to fight to get my deposit back which is an utter disappointment as the company has so much potential in other aspects.
