Dispute and Disappointment with the service given by Dollar Thrifty Car Rental SA

I rented a car from Dollar Thrifty Car Rental for the 3rd consecutive time at the OR Tambo International Airport The 3 times prior I had no issues until I returned the hired vehicle on the 25th of October 2021.

On initial return of the vehicle the Thrifty Official who signed off the good condition of the car observed the vehicle and he felt it was satisfactory he signed off and we left - no said damages were communicated at this moment and I left. On the 26th of October I woke up to a debit of R13626 and odd cents on my credit card, when I called to enquire with the Branch my call was not picked up - I called all day and still no answer. I made attempts the following few days and finally got hold of the supervisor.

I spoke to the supervisor enquiring on the policies and procedures that they as Thrifty would have to go through in terms of first informing a client on the alleged damages before debiting my account. Please note I had not received any communication from Thrifty that spoke to anything damage related and that they would debit my account.

The Supervisor agreed that they were supposed to first inform me either telephonically or via email and that I should perhaps visit the branch to speak to the office that deals with receivals of vehicles. This was not at all a satisfactory solution by the supervisor as I was unable to physically attend to this issue.

I then opted for email and phone call and still no responses to date. Today is officially a month and I have not received any response from Yunesh who my dispute was referred to. Despite having escalated the matter with my bank as I reported this as ***** still no response to date. No email of the said damages nor image as I had requested only an Invoice stating that I had scratched the mag wheel an invoice by the way that I only received when I complained about their lack of communication. I have email after email and phone call attempts to Thrifty and to date my matter has not been indulged.
