APPALLING / DISAPPOINTING/ DISRESPECTFUL/ DISGRACEFUL SERVICE OF THRIFTY CAR RENTALS

Hi Peter... I made a booking via the head office of Thrifty with Ref No:***8. I made the booking from JHB, To fetch a Car at the Cape Town International Airport on Friday the 6th of December, I was taking my wife to Cape Town for her Birthday which was on the 7th December, she has never been to Cape Town, but has been abroad.When we got to Thrifty at 20:30pm they refused to help us with a vehicle, although I had made a booking, I had A Business debit card and they refused to except it, as A Business Man, Well known in SA for the industry of Business I Currently own, I have booked vehicles several times before from various Rental Companies and they never had a problem with my Business Debit Card.My wife and I had to run to another rental Company to assist us and by now it was 21:30 and Thrifty just ignored to help us completely, we went Tempest car hire and they helped us out hassle free we got a Polo TSI and was on our way, Thrifty staff at the airport refused to call the manager on duty as well, I was so ashamed and disappointed, taking her all the way to Cape Town, making a booking with Thrifty and them dropping us...My advise to the people of SA, dont go for a cheaper price that will disappoint you and become a disaster, I as a Business man faced a disgraceful disappointment from Thrifty, literally left on the street with my wife in a City away from home.
