A 'Couldn't care LESS' attitude and an additional R1560 taken off our credit card! Shocking lack of customer care!

As the Foundation Director of an indepemdent school in Pietermaritzburg - we had a few options at CT airport to choose from whilst visiting the Cape recently. Trying to be careful with our limited travel budget, THRIFTY sounded good.to us.

A.SERIOUS MISTAKE!

The tone of our fundraiser work week there was very soon dented by an absolutely lackluster welcome by Samantha on front desk at the THRIFTY airport depot - who only raised a smile once as we appeared a clear irritation to her day.

The next morning - our drive out to Stellenbosch was almost immediately accompanied by a wheel whining sound. We stopped and realised our front right tyre was half flat, however the Caltex assistant assured us no puncture was discernable.

He pumped it up and from Sat till Monday - it lost no further pressure even though the dashboard light stayed on.

Upon returning the vehicle I mentioned this to Samantha - not wanting to receive an unfair invoice and especially to assure the next customer didn't have the same experience.as we had had.

The next week a flippant invoice accompanied R1560 - taken straight from my credit card. ALL THE INVOICE SAYS IS 'TYRE DAMAGED' No other details. No call. No customer care.whatsoever.

From our side, we have made over 6 calls to their GreenPoint office with no replies or valuable help offered to us at all. Only excuses for not replying and the matter 'is being looked into'

To anyone considering car hire cape Town - PEASE DO NOT GET CAUGHT BY THIS COMPANY! They will take your money (not even with a smile) and keep every last penny they can squeeze from you!

So disappointing for a brand I thought sounded good. I should have trusted my instinct at the check in desk. The atmosphere was one of 'couldn't care less' and their service has proved to be the same.

A bad sting for us. DONT COME NEAR THESE FOLK.

Even mentioning that I believe in customer reviews, didn't bother them.one biit.
