Personal Data Mysteriously vanishes from Discovery Invest’s System

I contacted Discovery Invest’s call centre for a copy of my Retirement Annuity Certificate. This after for some reason I couldn’t retrieve it from the App nor Discovery’s Online portal. Which I found very odd as this is a straight forward routine annual process for me, during tax season.

The agent finally sent me a copy of the certificate, however the physical address section was blank, as well as my name was missing from the “addressed to”, part of the document, making it difficult for any recipient to verify the authenticity of the document.

I followed up with Discovery Invest, via the call centre, and asked the agent why these important sections of the document were blank, considering they had all my details on their system, as per the certificate i retrieved from the previous year. She couldn’t tell me where my personal details had mysteriously disappeared to, and told me it will take 10days to fix. I told her i don’t have 10 days as i need to submit my efiling before the deadline. I requested a call back from someone that could assist urgently, as this was Discovery’s fault. Our personal information should be safe with them right? I still have not heard from Discovery since my last call. I need answers. How were my personal records compromised, and how did my personal details such as physical address mysteriously disappears off Discovery’s System? Other than my physical address, which I am now aware of, what other personal data has mysteriously disappeared off Discovery’s System which I may not be aware of. If Discovery Invest’s security is so porous that noone can track what happened to my personal details, lets hope their Bank is more vigilant with our personal information.
