<p>After years of low returns and high fees I decided to close my Discovery Invest RA and transfer the balance to a different institution. As the transfer was from one RA to another, I was assured there would and should be no tax implication. But Discovery Invest in their massive incompetence, decided to issue an IT3, stating that they had paid the money to me. Firstly, this would have been ******* for them to do. Secondly, they didn't pay the money to me. But now, as the IT3 is linked to my SARS efiling profile, I am unable to finalize my tax return. </p> <p> </p> <p>I phoned Discovery Invest on the 5th of July, they assured me they would fix the problem and send me an email confirming that by the end of bussiness. </p> <p> </p> <p>Of course I don't get an email, so on the 8th I phone again and demand an email confirming their response. I get an email promising they will have everything sorted out in 5 to 7 working days. Today (the 18th), after no further respones I send them another email. Someone else responds in an email that they haven't received the correct form from another department...</p> <p> </p> <p>Thanks for making my tax experience even worse than it had to be. Avoid Discovery Invest.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p>
