Discovery Invest threw away my savings -6.8% in 15months

The reason an investment business exists is to make money for the customers who invest their savings. In 2022-11, through my broker, I opened a Discovery Retirement Optimiser - Retirement Annuity Version 4. By 2024-04-06 I had invested ZAR24,642.00. And the current market value is … wait for it … ZAR22,953.23. So Discovery Invest has lost ZAR1,680 in 15months. And lost me the opportunity cost i should have kept my money with Stanlib.
