Worst service in 15 years

On Tuesday, 23 Aug at around 09:00 I spoke to Tshepo at Discovery Card regarding my credit account that has been frozen. I sent them by e-mail the required copy of my ID on 12 August 2016. I received an e-mail on the same date with the Subject Line populated by : "WRefNo# ********** 380#- -MailRef# ********** 937#".

I noted the first line of the e-mail stated "Thank you for sending us your FICA (Financial Intelligent Centre Act) documents." I did not read the rest of the e-mail (containing no indication of the urgency thereof, e.g. appropriate wording in the Subject Line, or using the 'High Priority' send option).

Only when I received an sms on 16 Aug indicating an arrangement needs to be made to pick up a copy of the ID, did I phone Discovery Card to find out what the issue was. Only then was I verbally informed that the initial copy was unclear. The said document was subsequently picked up by the courier service that Discovery Card arranged on Friday, 19 August. By Tuesday, 23 August the necessary processes had not been completed by Discovery and my account was frozen. This morning's call to Discovery indicated this issue 'will definitely be fixed today' (meaning at midnight [00:00] on the morning of 25 August).

Needless to say, this did not happen. This is the worst service I've experienced in 15 years dealing with this Group. Hence, I'm in the market for a new card company ....
