Worst service ever
I do not know when the change happen- but discovery banks service has changed to really suck- I made a payment to a closed account on the 25th July- it is now the 20th August and they haven’t reversed it and I get nothing but frustration when I call them. they no longer reverse eft payments (so double and tripple check your payments) the consultants are rude, we still can’t send people money using their number if they don’t bank with discovery.

Thanks for getting in touch with us.
By law, EFT payments are final and irreversible. If you pay a beneficiary by mistake, we can try to help you recover the money through a manual process, but this is done on the goodwill between the banks.
This is a matter between you and the beneficiary, so if you know the beneficiary you paid by mistake, it’s best to contact them and ask them to pay the money back to you. If you want us to help, remember that we can’t reverse the payment, but we can contact the beneficiary’s bank with an official request to pay the money back. This takes five working days.
Please note that we’ll charge you for this service and, unfortunately, we can’t guarantee that you’ll get the money back because this process generally has a low success rate across all banks.
If we send this request, the beneficiary’s bank will try to get the beneficiary’s permission to pay the money back. If that bank can’t get permission to pay the money back and if they get consent from the beneficiary, they’ll give us the beneficiary’s name and contact number, which we’ll share with you.
Regards
Girshwin
