Wish I could join Discovery but they are not transparent or fair with their Discovery miles program. Read the fine print carefully!
I want to join Discovery Bank. However, after being given many inconsistence answers it finally came out that after spending R25 000 on your credit card you only earn 1 mile for every R100 instead of every R15 or R20 (I still could not get a proper answer as to whether it is R15 or R20 per mile). I cannot understand how Discovery can penalise you for using the card they give you. I wonder how many other customers they are losing or how many people are signed up without reading the complicated little footers about discovery miles.

09 Jun 2020, 11:24Thank you for clarifying how discovery miles are earned your call centre staff should be trained in the brochure you sent me. However, you have verified with this information that once you spend a certain amount (R25000) on your black card, that you earn 1 discovery mile for every R100. You are the only bank that penalises its customers for using your product. I would move my entire banking and savings portfolio over to Discovery if they did not have a ridiculous policy that limits your discovery miles earning rate after hitting a stupidly low threshold. Discovery still makes the same amount every transaction and should not be limiting its client with their rewards program like that. I would rather get a Woolworths card and get cash vouchers to spend in return or E-bucks or U-count or any other reward program that doesn't limit my loyalty to a program for using the brand extensively.
