Unilaterally raised cash withdrawal limit

My wife suffers from a serious medical condition that puts her at risk of irrational spending. Thus far I have re**** on a R500 cash withdrawal limit on my Discovery Card to restrict the potential damage she could cause to our finances by using the credit card to withdraw cash.<br> <br> I recently requested a secondary card for my wife. I asked the call centre agent to confirm the withdrawal limit was the same as my other card. I was told the withdrawal limit was R5000 and that it wasn't possible to change. The useless call centre agent could not grasp she represents Discovery Card and obviously THEY had a unilateral change. I sent a complaint to [Email Removed] on the 10 Nov. I never received a response.<br> <br> Yesterday, 1 Dec, my wife's medical condition kicked in and she discovered she was able to withdraw far more than R500 in cash. This is clearly in breach of contract, and since Discovery Card is linked to Discovery Health Scheme I believe this is also a significant failure of DHS - my wife's condition is considered a permanent disability and she is on chronic care for it.<br> <br> Unless this matter is resolved I will be forced to go to the Credit Ombudsman & Council for Medical Schemes.
