I would like to know - who authorized that deduction and why was it not communicated with me. if the account is in arrears then a customer is contacted and an arrangement is made. I want my money bac**** the next deduction date is the 25 July 2019 - what changed.

11 Jul 2019, 12:38Hi Mpho
Thank you for bringing your query to our attention.
Our records show that we did not receive the full minimum amount due on 25 June 2019 for the statement that closed on 29 May 2019 and due to this we ran a NAEDO debit order for the outstanding minimum payment due.
In terms of common law, the bank has the right, if necessary where you are in default or breach of this credit agreement, to set-off any outstanding amounts that are due and payable against funds (credits) available in other accounts you have with the bank.
The debited amount of R417.00 has cleared into your account and we have updated your account status.
Regards
Neo

11 Jul 2019, 13:14What a disappointment- I was supposed to have been notified or contacted whether its common law or not you are supposed to make that arrangement with me and not just deduct as discovery sees fit. A person plans and set a budget. I don't have a new card hence cannot use any funds from discovery. What an inconvenience!!!

11 Jul 2019, 19:19Neo and Discovery - seems you don’t get it- communication was supposed to be done to let me know that funds will be deducted at an unexpected time , It seems like you are only focused on what was taken but arrogantly ignoring my point - Common law from discovery doesn’t allow deductions without authorisation and that is a fact!! Whether i receive my statement or not. Discovery is a huge institution, entitlement should not be a focus area. Changing a customers perception of the service rendered, reassuring the customer that you understand, emphatic behaviour towards a disgruntled customer. You have content correct however you failed at one vital point- changing my perception about your company and it’s processes! No need to respond.
