*****ulent transactions on my Discovery Card whilst abroad

I am traveling in the UK and Europe and I took extra care to keep my physical Discovery Bank Card safe. I even had it in a holder that protects it from RFID. When I left London I boarded a cruise in Italy and when the cruise got to Greece I got two notifications of 100 GBP each going off my account in two different transactions. I immediately tried to find signal in the middle of the Adriatic Sea to phone Discovery Bank since they can only be phoned and not emailed. This was Saturday afternoon when I made contact. Their ***** Department immediately stopped my physical card. Both those *****ulent transactions were in a pending state. I got a reference number and a turnaround time of 72 hours. Those two transactions have since gone off my balance which I find very disturbing. I phoned again this morning and they told me it’s under investigation and that they don’t immediately reverse *****ulent transactions, this also concerns me. Thankfully I have a Capitec card as a back-up, which I’ve had to use.

Discovery Bank has given me no confidence that these two *****ulent transactions will be reversed, which is rather concerning. Now I must wait till Friday for the outcome of their investigation, which is not a nice feeling whilst traveling.

Dear Candice

We are apologize for this experience. Such investigations are of a very sensitive nature and require our team to handle them with care.

Please allow us sometime to look into this matter for you and then we will provide you with feedback.

Any feedback as yet? It has been two weeks and the amounts still have not been reversed.
I keep on being told feedback will be provided, yet not feedback is provided in terms of having those transactions reversed. Really disappointed in Discovery Bank's service and the fact that I must keep reaching out. Other banks reverse these things without a long process that causes unnecessary stress for the client.

I phoned yesterday again and I received the same treatment that I received after phoning on Monday and they told me the investigator will phone me but I am still waiting. When will the investigator actually phone? When will I be told what information they require from me? Who else can I complain too because this is completely unacceptable. These *****ulent transactions occurred on 11 May and yet here I am on 31 May still reaching out to Discovery to please reverse these transactions that have been deducted from my balance.

I’d really like to get this resolved please.
