The worst service EVER
A couple of months ago I found that my credit card kept failing and contacted discovery. At first I couldnt even pass my own security check twice, and then had to give up trying. I asked my wife to contact them on-line but eventaully she said she couldnt help me, I had to do it myself. Since then i have received nothing but the poorest service that can be described only as useless service, although i can think of more expletive terms. I have since, made possibly 10 to 12 phone calls to try and unblock the card and even with the assistance of my PA we couldn't get it done before coming on our annual Chritsmas holiday. We did eventually get through to the evasive and useless ***** department after having been cut off atleast 4 times, after holding the line each time for more than 10 minutes, and having taken the security check, about 10 times. When i did get the ***** department on the line, I was told that the card was in fact blocked without my consent for the measly sum of about R250 because of an attempted Uber charge. The asked if I made the charge, some time in September or October. I couldn't recall but i said i would gladly accept the charge if they could please unblock the card. It took some more minutes, maybe 20 minutes by now for just one of 10 calls, but he assured me the card is now UNBLOCKED SUCCESFULLY. The same day when I tested the card, it was still blocked and the next day too, until today it remains BLOCKED! This after my wife and I took time out and spent another hour on the phone on our way to our holiday destination. Once we got through and passed the security check 4 times only to be cut off 4 times again before we reached our holiday destination. I then called the customer complaints department. They took a message and failed to call me back, can you believe that??? Exasperated we went into a FNB branch a week ago, hoping to elicit some help. They helped us call and got the idiotic and useless ***** department after taking another security check. The seeming helpful assistant said he was holding for a while, and to minimize frustration he will get them to call me back or call back himself. He called and said he couldn't get help but will call back again. This was a week ago, needless to say he didn't call back. I looked up a contact number on Google for a client liaison officer, but I must have been senseless to think that they would have or post a number for such a useful person, that would be too much to ask! Right now I'm flabbergasted that a professional banking institution and financial services institution can deliver a service that would be even worse than the worst government department. I would change my bank, but Discovery has me trapped with me owning too many of their products, and now i have to suffer the consequences. I can't believe that they can cause customers this amount of grief and waste my time so much, and that by blocking my own card without my consent. There is no way that they can reward me for the frustration caused over the last 3 months....it just isn't worth it. STAY AWAY FROM DISCOVERY!!!!!!
