Stop order processed on credit card account already paid

Really annoyed with the constant incompetence of Discovery Card (in fact all of their divisions are starting to become a liability to me and many clients).

My Discovery Card payment was due on 10 August and I duly transferred the full amount due on 8 August. Despite the email from Discovery showing this cleared on 10 August (the due date), my bank account was still debited for the minimum amount due this morning. This is not the first occasion that this has happened i.e. stop order being processed against my account despite the money clearing on the due date or earlier.

I had to go into the bank today to reverse the stop order, to ensure my usual debit orders do not bounce due to insufficient funds. Who will compensate me for taking time off work, transport costs and bank fees? What about other customers who debits did bounce? Discovery has no concern whatsoever for any of their clients who are affected by their incompetence.

If my due date is 10 August, on what basis can you debit my account without giving me an opportunity to pay on this date? This is despite the fact that I settled this account in full on 8 August. It should not be the clients problem if Wednesday was a public holiday, Discovery needs to adjust their systems accordingly. Other larger companies are able to do this.

As usual they will blame FNB for this. This is not an acceptable excuse. You charge exhorbitant fees across all of your products, so provide a service proportionate to this.

No response or contact made. Rather they tried to pull a fast one and have my comment deleted. This is the real face of Discovery. They saw my complaint, made no contact to rectify the situation but tried to act in an underhanded manner. They only care about their public image not how their ********* actions affect their clients. And these are management level staff who conduct themselves in this manner. Unfortunately, Discovery has grown too big (ego) to care about their clients. Their motto is charge exorbitant fees on all their products but provide a sub-standard service. Beware when dealing with Discovery Card, they will process debits on your bank account even when the payment is made before the due date. I also have a Standard Bank credit card and they do not operate in this ********* manner. Wonder if Adrian Gore would be happy if he paid his credit card in full, on time and his card company still pilfered from his bank account?
