Serious issue with receiving international funds
Having been with other banks I know how releasing forex funds works. Discovery bank have chosen not to release my funds, stating they are reviewing them. Mind you the call centre agent told me they would be released by the end of the day the bank received them. There is no clear process as to what to do or how they work with international payments. Call centre agents give different answers to the same questions. Now I’m told it will take up to 30 days for me to receive my money, it’s just pending. I regret moving banks as I know FNB would have released them on the same day!

29 Mar 2023, 14:42Discovery bank have apparently returned these funds but it has been almost four weeks and they have not been received by the sender! They started by saying their accounts do not accept foreign currencies. Fair enough, even though it was a pending payment as rands in my account. Then they sent an email saying the funds were rejected. I asked for a proof of return and this one pager, saying they returned the funds took TWO WEEKS to write. The letter, dated 18 March, says the funds will be returned in 3 days. It's now the 29th of March and the funds are still missing. What is happening?! I honestly don't understand how a process so straight forward needs me to call every single day. And I will not stop until they return that money. They know exactly where it is.
