Poor decision by Discovery Bank
I have been turned down by Discovery Bank for a Discovery Credit Card on the basis of insufficient income. This is despite the fact that I currently have a credit card which is paid in full by debit order every month. For certain reasons I wish to change to a Discovery CC, which I would continue to operate on the same basis. Discovery Bank need to revise their criteria.

01 Nov 2022, 15:37Oh, I have challenged and re-submitted documents but the answer is the same, declined again, because the algorithm that is being used clearly does not apply to me.
Using different criteria I clearly can manage a credit card, but Discovery won't use them.

Unfortunately, this is the same process we use for all our potential clients before we can provide credit.

03 Nov 2022, 17:19Well, it clearly is incorrect to use the same process for everyone. You depend on the applicant earning a salary.
I am a pensioner, no salary, a lot of investments and no debt. It would appear that Discovery is not interested in giving a credit card to rich pensioners.
All they have to do is to look at how my current credit card is used, paid in full by debit order every month.
My case should be passed on to your CEO to consider whether a different approach should not be used.
I look forward to receiving a CONSTRUCTIVE reply. In the meantime I will continue to use my present credit card.
