Once bitten, twice shy!

Tried twice now to open an account. The previous time they rejected the uploaded green ID book. Insisted that I provide a drivers license. I do not have one. I admit all I did have was a scan of my green ID book.

When I got my smart ID, I tried again to open an account via their app. My phone number had changed so I did not get the OTP they sent. I got them to change the number and tried again.

The app only accepts either a drivers license or a green ID book. I scanned my smart ID using the the app as a drivers license and they rejected it. I understand that, but why do they not accept the government issued smart ID?

I received a call from them and I explained the issue and the agent told me to send a picture of the smart ID to an email address (***) after the call. I received an auto response that the email address is not monitored and clients should not send mails to that address. Hello

The smart ID has been in circulation since 2013, have they not received the memo?

Recently they reached 1 million accounts opened. Are they being selective of who can open an account? If you don't have an ID that is easily forged, thus why it's being phased out, but it's not valid for them.

I only wanted to open the account as my wife was so impressed with them. I decided to go with Capitec instead. My wife will follow soon.

Trying twice is one too many times.

Please stop emailing and calling me. I have no more interest in getting an account with you.
