NOT the bank that completely changed everything!!

I made an online purchase about a month ago on my Discovery Credit card. I accidentally clicked on a button for a recurring payment to go off on a monthly basis for being able to receive communication and being able to make contact with the merchant as and when I needed to as a support to the product. When I realized that I did this (after the 1st payment for this immediately went off the card), I tried to find contact details for this merchant to cancel the purchase, but without any luck. I then contacted Discovery to have the transaction reversed. I was told that they can dispute the payment, but I would have to have proof that I contacted the merchant. How do I prove that I contacted the merchant if I can't reach them??? Today another payment went off my credit card. ?I again contacted Discovery to reverse this payment (as it had only been 'reserved' like the previous time and again had to hear that the payment can only be disputed with the merchant, but not reversed.

As far as my knowledge goes, if a payment is 'reserved' it still means that it can be reversed - it has not left my account yet. so how can the bank 'that has completely changed everything' not be able to do a simple thing such as reversing a payment. I am able to reverse a payment on my cheque card at another bank and even do a stop-payment, but on the wonderful Discovery card, I am not able to perform such a simple transaction.

Furthermore, I need to prove conversations / contact with a company which I can't get hold of!! I am being told that I authorized the payment, yet, I can't authorize the reversal of such a payment??!! If all else fails, I will close my credit card to stop this payment from going off and Discovery can go and find someone else to help pay off their brand new office block!
