Not Following Banking Regulations and Not Changing my Account
I spoke to a ***** consultant earlier this week, explaining that my card details have been photographed and my bank account number can still be used for other things. I requested for a new account number and new card. The consultant ONLY told me to cancel the card via the app, which I did but the account number will still remain the same. As banking practice this is not a good idea for the account number to remain the same. I'm so depressed, stressed and my anxiety is through the roof. I don't understand why Discovery Bank cannot change my account number like most banks do.
For this I would like some sort of compensation from Discovery Bank as I feel that when my salary goes into my account something might happen. Also I found out that enquiries has been done and a possible my banking details could've been used for a Debit Order and not a DebiCheck.
Compensation of R9000 would be ideal for not following banking requirements
Thanks for reaching out.
If you'd like a new account number you can close your current account and reopen a new account which will change your account number and you'll receive a new card.
Unfortunately I cannot give you R9000.00 because the banking system works differently as you would prefer.
Kind regards
Nicolene
