My Experience and Feedback on Home Loan Application

I wanted to share my recent experience with applying for a home loan with Discovery Bank. My first application had some issues so it was closed, so here's feedback on my current application: 1. Application Process ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The process was simple and easy. My spouse and I completed the application and submitted all necessary documents within 30 minutes on May 15 at 11:55 AM. 2. Document Verification ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Our documents were verified, and a consultant was assigned on the same day, May 15, at 2:07 PM. 3. Consultant Interaction ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We received a call from SA HomeLoan on May 16 at 8:30 AM, requesting a few more documents. The consultant was very professional, acknowledged all my emails, and responded where needed. 4. Real Estate Appraiser ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We got a call from the real estate appraiser on May 16 and scheduled an appointment for May 17 at 1:00 PM. The appraiser arrived on time and completed the assessment. 5. Awaiting Letter of Acceptance ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I'm currently waiting for the letter of acceptance. I received a call from my banker, stating that all information has been submitted and they are finalizing the rate. I have not opted for the HomeLoan Protector. My previous applications with FNB and Nedbank were quicker, taking only 1-2 days after the property assessment, whereas Discovery will take 4-5 days. I gave 4 stars only because of this delay. I'm sure it will improve. I'm optimistic that Discovery will offer a competitive rate. I've emphasized that I will consider moving if they provide a better personalized rate. However, I won't switch if the rate offered is lower than my existing bank, as the shared value discount can change over time. Overall Experience ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Irrespective of my acceptance, the application process gets 5 stars from me!
