Legalized phishing...

I was considering moving to Discovery bank and did an enquiry into a banking suite in September 2021. I was sent a quotation with fees and interest rates, based on this I chose not to accept the account and asked the consultant to cancel the application, which he assured me he had done "besides the quote is only valid for 5 days, so don't worry". This week I reconsidered joining due to some other products being added, so I downloaded the app and (because I have a Discovery Med aid) logged in with these details. This was so that I could view available products, and fees, on the app. Only to find that in logging in I had inadvertently continued with the application started over a year ago. I desperately called to stop this process, citing the possibility of damage to my credit score, only to be told that there is nothing that can be done but to let the application take it's course... It was declined (fortunately) but with severe damage to my carefully curated credit score.... Obviously if I now try to apply for any products with Discovery or any other bank, I can't until my score recovers. I am extremely disappointed and don't have any way of disputing or clearing my name.... Thanks for that Discovery! I will now be reconsidering all my products with you, including insurance and healthcare.
