It just gets better and better all the time.
Discovery studiously avoids explaining how the new discovery miles are awarded in comparison to how miles were previously awarded. In my case my average spend is unchanged but whereas all of last year my average miles were more than 8000 per month, I was awarded a total of 1176 miles for August and September 2019, and average of 588 per month. Also we hear in the press that DB had a security glitch whereby credit card transaction security was compromised. - I received no communication from DB about this.

18 Oct 2019, 10:39I fully understand your reply. However 3 questions:
1. Please explain why if i earn i mile for every R20, i only received 1176 miles for August andseptember. An average of 583 per month on a spend more than R25 000 per month
2. You have dealt with base miles. What happened to the multiplier?
please send me the august and september calculations leading toThe miles paid.
3, u have unilaterally decided on a maximum of R25 000. Per month upon which you pay miles.. Does this mean i would be better advised to limit my spending and obtain another card from another bank.
I have already set up a new arrangement with Nedbank credit card division and have been asked to meet with RMB.
By having to drag out answers piece by piece, you r bank is irretrievably damaging its reputation.
Also you are punishing me because I dont have the full banking suite - when obtaining information from your call centre is impossible.

18 Oct 2019, 16:06Having been told i will earn i mile for every R20, when i look at my october transactions something is very WRONG. I am getting far less than 1 for every R20.
My email from the man Barry asked to explain the miles was nonsense.
Please can I have the truth for once and for all.

19 Oct 2019, 19:49 DISCOVERY BANK MILES ARE A *******. It just gets better and better.
I put the DB app on my iPad and Voila there were the miles awards per entry. As an accountant I noticed the following:
1. Miles are awarded at the rate of 1 Mile per R40 Rand spent despite the website saying 1 per R20. A R1000 spend at pick n pay yielded 25 miles.
2. Mile awards are based on the individual item spend which is rounded DOWN to the nearest R40 Rand instead of being awarded on the aggregate. A spend of R463 yielded 11 miles, clearly rounded down to R440j. A sp[end of R14.99 yielded nil miles.
This is sharp practice. No wonder nobody can tell me how miles are awarded. That would let the cat out of the bag.
What happened to trust Mr. ****?

20 Oct 2019, 20:39More questions s
When I convert miles to cash to transfer to my credit card, i see that the conversion rate is no longer 10cents per mile - it is further reduced.
Gentlemen you are not playing straight. 2727miles converts to R227.25 a drop of a further 20%.
Why?
I must confess if i had to write and explain how miles are calculated, i would be embarrassed at how your scheme is being administrated.
