Is Discovery Bank really ready for business?

Changing bank accounts, more specifically the time and effort to switch all your debit orders etc, is not something done lightly. So when your advertising has managed to persuade me to suffer through the ordeal, it’s really quite a let down to find the options desired greyed out on the app with no explanation or information to be found. The call centre’s advice was to ‘wait for a couple of days’. Also enquired with regards to the negotiable interest rate for deposits in excess of R100k, my details were taken with the promise of a call-back which has not materialized. My life savings may not be of significant value within the world of banking, but this does not leave me feeling very confident that this is the best place to entrust my hard-earned and hard-saved cash.
