Involuntary Payments transacted by Discovery Bank on clients accounts
On 24 March, the Discovery Bank app was not functioning everytime, I make a transaction it would decline. I made two Transactions R14500 and R2000 to different recipients and they were both declined. To my surprise these transactions reflected on my statement as successful on my statement. I called Discovery they reversed the first one which was R14500 and the other Transaction have not been reversed even today. Thet told me I am go to the other bank and tell them to check their clients account and reverse that money! Whilsyt they are telling me to do this they have noyt given me an official communication from their side which will request the other bank. I dont have a Court order that authorizes me to force the other bank to invade their clients account. I am not even a law enforcement officer who maybe is investigating this matter. they are claiming that it is my faulty. How does it become my fault if they told me that the transaction is declined whilst they are letting it go through and do not alert me thereafter? I have been battling to get the email address or telephone number of somebody senior than a mere call centre consultant who is nasty to me. finally i got the number of the Chief Operations Officer/Manager Mapule Mzimba until today she has not rep****. I then went ahead and search for the other email address of the Chief Client Officer Phuthi Sebidi and initially she did not reply until I sent the email more than once and she told me they are investigating. Discovery did not inform me that I must not use they app as they were awatre that it is not working and I had to go to strenuous ways of getting the correct contact information, I dont know if I should still let my salary go through their account
