"Interest-free iStore Purchase" is a ****

<p>I app**** for a Discovery credit card for the sole purpose of buying a Macbook and getting 12 months interest free. I told this to the consultant on the phone who offered me a high credit limit to which I rep**** that I only needed R20000. I purchased my Macbook successfully online for R17499 by selecting the interest free option and the transaction went through. Fast forward a month and I receive a statement showing that Discovery charged me interest of R430 for the first month. When I called them last week, they said that they will have to move my transaction across to budget and that they will refund the interest charged. When I called them this morning they said that this is impossible because my budget facility can only be up to 80 percent of my total limit, so I could only spend R16000 at the iStore. This is NOT in the terms and conditions and was not explained to me otherwise I would have taken a higher credit card limit!! Call centre consultants have no idea what is going on, completely unhelpful. I have been ****med and now I have interest to pay which I did not plan for.</p>
