Incorrect debt allocation
Hi, my discovery bank account of R 332 on my clear score is incorrect. I don't have an outstanding balance with them and i have nothing to pay them, I closed my discovery account on the 2th of April and received a email confirmation when i requested for letter saying the account is closed. I emailed them and received no feedback and now this is showing as a outstanding amount on my record from June. This needs to be removed immediately. Such a big company but your cant keep track of payments and close accounts correctly.

I hope you are doing well.
In cases like these where you have received account closure confirmation from the bank after the account has been closed, you would need to contact Experian/Clear score in order for the account to be removed as the Credit Bureau might be backdating the data. You can actually use the letter confirming account closure to motivate the Credit Bureau to clear this account from their system as it is paid up and closed. The bank does not submit information to the Bureau after an account is deemed closed. As it stands and as per our records, I can safely state that there is no existing Discovery bank product under your ID number. Our systems do show that you are a group client, meaning you could possibly have one of Discovery's products, which is not Bank.
