I received a call on Saturday morning at 10
I received a call on Saturday morning at 10. I qualified for a credit card. I completed the entire process on the app whilst on the phone with the call agent. I submitted all the docs on the app ID, address etc. I don't drive, i never have, never will, and i have never app**** for a passport as i have no need to. Today i get told they won't process my application as i don't have a drivers or passport! What the actual f!. My ID proves who i am! What kind of utterly pathetic and useless bank is this?!

KYC have a verification process where we attain three photographs for an application:

KYC have a verification process where we attain three photographs for an application:
- From the selfie the client takes.
- Supporting document (Proof of Identity e.g., ID, passport, and Driver’s license)
- Photo from the DHA
If you still have an old green ID book verification can't be done because DHA does not have a photo to send Discovery bank when it is requested. When this happens, we request additional proof of identity such as driver’s license or passport.
If you don't have any of these other documents, then a manual verification can done only if you other Discovery products such as medical Aid or an Insure policy.
Do you have any other Discovery products?

04 Apr 2023, 18:15Sorry, but why on earth would i even want any discovery products when u are literally telling me i don't exist because i have a legit barcoded ID BOOK!!! No other bank in South Africa comes up with this nonsense like Discovery, where a person's ID is not proof enogh that they exist or are who they are. I have never heard such utter *******.

You don't have to pay back money on YOUR bank account, you do have to repay on a credit card. A bank account is not loaded with funds that a bank is loaning you, a credit card is!! See the difference?! Anyway i am done with this joke called Discovery. Do not bother to respond. You have nothing worth while to say.
