I open an credit card account in June and I received their credit card on the 28 of July 2025. The amount I got was R300 I thought what a good way to boost my credit score. Thing turned bad when I try to buy on credit on the 29 there were no funds to use only to find out that I was actually owing them without using the card. I tried to find out and request the closure of account I was told I am liable to pay even if I did not use the card. HOW DO YOU PAY IF YOU DID NOT USE THE CREDIT CARD NOT EVEN ONCE. TODAY JUST RECEIVED A SETTLEMENT AMOUNT R485 WITH OUT USING THE CARD. What an experience when I thought I will be boosting my credit score turn out I will be more in debt.

29 Aug 2025, 12:55Hey Ncebakazi.
I have reviewed your profile.
The balance on your account is due to the fees that went off your account for the credit facility.
Please note that once your application is successful and your account is open, then we would consider it active and there would be monthly fees that would be debited monthly. Meaning the client is liable for the fees.
However, a formal complaint has been logged for you, I have escalated the case with the relevant Executive Relationship Manager for any further feedback.
Kind regards,
Mpho.
