I cant even close my account without being tortured. Release me from the pain that is Discovery Bank
I am beyond ****ed off with you lot. I cant even close my account in peace !!
On the 2nd of Feb , I paid 63K into my account (as this is what my statement showed me )and I asked for it to be closed. On The 6th of feb I was told to pay outstanding interest etc of R 1.2k – I did this, and again asked for the account to be closed On the 8th feb, more charges and interest, and now I have interest charges to the 17th of Feb, and no doubt this number will continue to grow. I owe nothing – how is it that the charges keep piling up, while you all dither about closing the account ?
Is this policy to continue to torture me ??
And now this rather obscure little nugget ..

You're very good at "closing cases" but pretty ****e at closing account.

Now if I had an actual email / person to talk to, I wouldn't find it necessary to post messages here...
In the meantime I receive mails reminding me of a minimum payment that is due, as well as the fact that my card is expiring soon.
If only I could receive a mail, telling me that through shear tenacity, will power and a desire for customer service , that teams of bankers and I.T department officials, have miraculously unlocked the key to the seemingly impossible task of closing an account.
