I am listed for a credit card I asked to be closed in 2021; I've been charged fees for an account I dont use. What services are they charging me for? IS THIS LEGAL???

I app**** for a credit card and discovery gave me a wrong credit card which had higher bank charges. From 2020 to 2021 I continuously logged calls for the fees to be reversed and the correct credit card to be issued, but I received no help. I december 2020, I sent a request to close the account and submitted my complaint. The charges were finally reversed and they advised me that they will reverse them monthly since they could not fix the product time. January and February 2021, the charges were not reversed and when I called-in, it was the same story of endlessly being ignored. I closed the account in february and paid everything except for the fees which were pending reversal. But they refused to close the account and kept on charging me monthly. I logged several complaints, but the officials were only interested in selling me additional products. The fees for January to May 2021 were finally reversed in August 2021, when I complained with the ombudsman. But then they said I must pay the fees for June 2021 to date...for an account that I asked to be closed in February and never used ever since then???

They have been charging me fees for an inactive account since 2021 to date and this is truly unfair and *******. The problem is they know that I dont have financial manpower to take them to court. I cannot get jobs, cannot buy anything on credit because of them yet I dont owe them anything.

I submitted multiple complaints on Hello Peter, but the matter is not being resolved.
