Home Loan Nightmare

Decided to use Discovery for our home loan application as we currently have banking and insurence with them. What a mistake this turned out to be... Discovery and SA Homeloans have partnered to provide this service and between the 2 and I don't know which is worse. We are on our 3rd application now. First had to be cancelled because forms did not include both names on the bond which is understandable. But we had to then resubmit all supporting documents again because Discovery/SA Homeloans don't keep copies of documents. What a joke! Process took so long that we had to borrow money elsewhere (on which we are still paying interest) to avoid the purchase falling through. Property was eventually registered at the deeds office but no news on the application. 2nd application had to cancelled because this was now a refinance loan and all documents submitted again. 3 Months down the line and we are still waiting... Will probaly be another month or so. Dont have any faith in Discovery or SA Homeloans.

Unfortunately you have to rate the service otherwise I wouldn't have given them zero stars.

If you want to wait months for your loan to be approved and receive the most appalling service ever be my guest. My suggestion is AVOID AT ALL COST!!!
