HOLDING PAYMENTS ON CARD - I WANT TO KNOW WHERE IS THE LAW AND AGREEMENT OF SAYING IT?
Since when is discovery keeping your money on hold for 5 working days, when you have a debit order?????? IS DISCOVERY IN NEED FOR MONEY WITH THE NEW MALL THAT IS BEEN BUILD AND NEED INTEREST ON OUR MONEY???? YOU ARRANGE A DEBIT ORDER THEY BLOCK THE ACCOUNT AND TELL ME THE ACCOUNT IS ONLY CLEARED IN 5 WORKING DAYS BUT IT SHOW OFF ON MY BANK ACCOUNT AND SHOW ALREADY IN THERE ACCOUNT. I SUPPOSE THAT IS HOW DISCOVERY IS BUILDING A NEW MALL FOR ALL THE MONEY THEY KEEP ON HOLD FOR PAYMENTS????? THEN THEY TELL ME THEY CANNOT CANCEL THE DEBIT ORDER ON THERE SIDE???
Thank you for your comment.
I have sent you a detailed email which explains the clearance time and why it is in place. To summarise:
1. A debit order will run on an account whether there are funds available for the debit order or not
2. If there are no funds available for the debit order, then the paying bank will “recall” the debit order from the receiving bank
3. This process (debit order going off; bank recalls the funds) may take up to 5 working days to complete
4. During the 5 working days, the funds will reflect on the clients statement as having been received, however the funds won’t reflect as available
5. Once the 5 working days have passed, the receiving bank then accepts that the funds will not be recalled and the funds will be made available to the client to use
I realise that this is not the answer you were hoping for; however I trust that you understand the reason for this process.
Best regards
Rene
