Hidden fees and poor service

I was promised a follow up on a query around international fees taken off a refund made a couple weeks ago. I was assured that I would receive a detailed breakdown of the fees. This has not happened. The service of Discovery has plummeted in recent years. And the fees have been steadily increasing, both transparent and hidden fees. Call me back today, without fail, or I'm out.

Hi Gregg

I apolgise for the experience that you have had with us.

The original transaction rate R19.552 including the currency conversion fee.

The refund rate is R18.589 before the currency conversion fee being removed.

The currency conversion fee is 3% for Discovery Bank on international transactions.

These figures make no sense, since the time period between the debit and refund was 24-48 hours.

And why is the "fee" not itemised on my bill?

Hi Beatrice,

I checked the historical exchange rate tables and the figures you provide are not correct.
There was a 1 cent difference, not a rand difference.

I'll need that callback.

A week later and I have still not received a response. You are losing a customer of several decades due to poor service.
