Fuel "Rewards" If you're like me (and most people I know) you probably don't read the fine print until something goes wrong. I was appalled to find out that one is charged 18% "interest" to use your Discovery credit card at a fuel station. They are quick to entice you with 6% cash back, but just forget to mention that the spend is capped at R1,000/month (less than 1 tank of petrol), and you will pay them 18%. Just some sums to point out how bad this deceit is on Discovery's part: if you fill up a small car three times a month, spending an average of R3,300 you will get R60 in rewards, but you will pay R594 in fees. Am I the only one who didn't know this??
