Financial ring-a-rosie

<p>On the 5th of July I received a notification that my Nedbank cheque account was overdrawn to the amount of R4682.59. When I checked my statements I found that the amount had been deducted using my Discovery card number as reference. I phoned Discovery, spoke to Nicholas who was very helpful and promised to look into the matter and the next morning the amount was deposited back into my account, minus R90 the bank was charging me as a penalty. Nicholas, phoned the next day and said that they couldn't find or see why the money had been taken from the account that my Discovery card is not even connected to and he was quite surprised to hear the money had been deposited back into my account. He put me through to billing, who put me through to the card division, who told me that they same amount had first been deposited into my Discovery card on the 2nd of July. They told me they would look into the matter. This morning the amount has been withdrawn from my Discovery card account, no explanation given, no reason for this monumental ****-up. To me it looks like someone deposited the amount into my Discovery card account in error, which is on my FNB account, then when they realised this, they 'recovered' the money from my Nedbank account, once again in error. Then they tried to reverse the whole mess. I want answers, why did this happen. </p>
